U.S. Sens. Wayne Allard, R-Colo., and Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., asked Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist today to abandon an immigration-reform bill passed by the Senate in May that calls for a guest-worker program and a pathway to legal status for many illegal immigrants. In a letter to Frist, who supported the Senate bill, Allard and Sessions called it "deeply flawed" and asked Frist to support "strong immigration enforcement provisions" such as those approved by the House of Representatives.

The senators both voted against the Senate bill, which passed 62-36 with bi-partisan support.
