Gonzalez, Amrry

"Being part of the American civic movement has truly been a transforming experience; I never thought I would learn so much about the political process of this country." — Amrry Gonzalez (Nicaraguan)

Amrry Gonzalez

Amrry Gonzalez is a Nicaraguan Agricultural Engineer who immigrated to the United States in 1999. He came here to pursue the dream of prosperity and professional security that his country was not able to provide him. Since arriving in the United States Amrry has taken up the noble cause of advocating for immigrant rights and equal treatment. Ammry has joined several key organizations whose prime directives parallel his passions of equality for immigrants in civic and professional matters.

Amrry joined Democracia U.S.A. in April of 2004. Since then, Amrry has registered over one thousand voters and is now part of the Democracia U.S.A. Leadership Academy. Amrry believes the Academy will help him acquire new leadership skills and polish his existing understanding of the meaning of "leadership". Once he graduates from the Leadership Academy, he plans to take all the learned skills into his community where he hopes to be a liaison between his community and elected officials. Amrry feels that he can improve his community through education of relevant and critical issues.
